NLC graduation!

Salam Everyone!
As you all know the NLC graduation is coming up and for the NLC youth we are putting on a play!
PLEASE!!! PLEASE!! PLEASE!!! remain focus and do you best this year!!
Otherwise PLEASE!!PLEASE!! let us know so we can take you out of the cast.
If you don't want to be in the show that is totally fine we can alwasy put you in somehting else but don't bring others hard work down just because you don't feel like participating!!!

Yup it's everyone's favorite event! We are Insh'Allah having another bake sale!!!!
March 20th, 2011!!!!
This will help pay for our end of the Year performance (things like props, costumes, paint etc.)
I would love for everyone to participate (Boys AAND girls)
LET'S TRY TO MAKE IT AS SUCCESSFUL AS OUR LAST ONE!!!
If you were not here last Sunday and did not get to write down what you will be bringing please do so in the comment box!!! (Also write a logical price for the food you will be bringing, and how many!) We will try to be more organized this time Insh'Allah!!
 This bake sale is NOOOOT! Limited to only sweets!! So let's try to bring a variety of food!

Gift basket for our misconduct

Please bring an item, food or otherwise, for the gift basket (that was suggested in class) to make ammends for our misconduct.  Thank you for your contibutions. NEW BABY!!

As we all know sister Kuburat has had her baby, it’s a baby girl JJJ

So we have decided that it would be nice to have cards and maybe a small gift for her when she returns, Please comment below on if you will bring your own card or gift. We will also have a group card for everyone to sign. Inshallah pray for her baby daughter to be well and healthy <3

MASJID CLEANING

I just wanted to inform everyone that the masjid cleaning has been postponed to January 22, 2011. This is because there will be an event going on this Saturday so we won’t be able to go according to planned. Iman Night

 

Salam everyone!!!!!

As we have mentioned in our last meeting the  Masjid will be hosting the first Iman Day (night) this Friday, January 7th

EVERYONE IS WELCOMED!!! Both guys and the girls!!!

It will start with a Potluck Dinner at 6:30PM followed by the Iman Day program after Isha prayer at 7:30PM.  ISCNY will provide refreshments and cold drinks, please bring a favorite dish to share with others.

The topic for the first Iman Day will highlight the first of Imam An-Nawawi's 40-Hadith. The hadith and a brief description together with the night schedule are attached.

The night will involve presentations, assorted videos, discussion panels, stories and a workshop. Insha-Allah, this program will help us apply and practice Iman in our daily lives.

I C E S K A T I N G

SALAM EVERYONE!!!
The girls youth group will be going ice skating inshallah December 31, 2010.
It will be starting at 2 o'clock after jumua prayer at Clinton square ice skating rink.
Everyone that is attending will need to bring $3.00 for skate rentals and admission 
Pizza and drinks will be provided!  We will all be meeting at the women's upstairs musalah. HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE!!!!

Fasting

Salam!
Many of you probably know that it is sunnah to fast the ninth and
tenth days of the Islamic month Muharram. These days are Wednesday and
Thursday of this week. I highly encourage that we all fast at least
one of these days because this action yields great benefits. Fasting
on the day of 'Ashura completely wipes away all minor sins committed
from the past year. Fasting Tasu'a is also very beneficial and gives
great hasanaat. MAY ALLAH FORGIVE US ALL !

DON'T FORGET!!! It's our 1st test with Brother Ibrahim; let’s show him that we are actually pretty smart!!!!  

 

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BAKE?

We will be having our 1^st bake sale Insh’Allah! It will be held on December 19, 2010. So far we are only having sweets. It can be anything from regular cookies and brownies to exotic and new foods from any country. Everyone will need to participate even if it’s only the plates or napkins.  Please contact me before December 12, 2010 telling me what you will be bringing.  Hopefully insh’Allah this goes well. This is not limited to only the girls youth group or only the guys. IT IS FOR EVERYONE!! My contact information is asmaeaitnajim@gmail.com and/or (315)863-7553. It is very important that you contact me before hand so we don’t have everyone bringing in the same thing. If money is an issue, make sure to tell me because we will be able to provide it. Our 1st post

Salam Everyone!!!

I would like to start by saying that i think the group meeting we had on Sunday was by far the most productive we have ever gotten!! GREAT JOB!! and Insh'allah i hope we will do even better next time. All events and ideas will be posted and i hope that you write what's on your mind also. Insh'allah may this be one of the steps to a successful youth group program. Feel free to comment and ask any questions.
